The Definition

by S.Gonzalez

It's not our actions that define us,
Nor is it the thoughts we have,
It's that question that annoys us,
What makes us as we are?

Nor was it the past,
and it's influences of our memory,
The present concealing what we lack,
as such a ignorant pleasantry,

Oh and how I pity the condition of man,
it's self-made sins and hidden whims,
and they hold you guilty for your speech,
and condemn a far fetched reach,

it's the conclusion of our actions,
Those reactions and interactions,
that defines us,
as a humanity of action,

The very nature of man is question,
The question as such and expected,
It's pure essence and uncorrected,

"What's next?"
